Here you go, I had this in mind for a while since people keep asking question about Koh. Spirit totem are supposed to represent you, which is why they came in many shapes and color. Koh is just one among many. The choice you take for the design must mean something to you. It can be related to your personality in general, desires that you want to achieves or event that marked you.
Spirit totems are growing at your side acquiring all your traits. Koh is a moth wearing a bird mask but they can take any sort of animal shapes, mixing it into a strange hybridization that is proper to you and them.

Don’t make a Koh2.0 you need to be original.
Totem are anything that have a signification to you, Spirit Totem are an amalgamation of thing that represent you and yourself only.
No more then one mask.
This species is a concept, a persona, do not use it for stories.
Rp are allowed but keep in mind that they have YOUR personality.
They’re asexuate, which means, they don’t have a gender despite reflecting you. They don’t need to reproduce. They can refer as she and he however.
How to design it ?
It must represent yourself, your personality, your flaw, your qualities.
Only YOU know how to design it. It’s based on you.
For design inspiration, look up at your own culture, Spirit Totem aren’t native american ! Example: you’re Egyptian, how about inspire yourself of the hieroglyph ? Or the scupture you can find ? You come from Ireland ? How about those amazing celtic pattern ?
Go toward things that you like and your own aesthetic preference.
It doesn’t have to be an animal ! It can be inspire of objects and plants, literally anything !
Use symbolism, what does certain things mean to you ? Use those elements to tell a story with them !
